Corken offers a variety of piston rod packing configurations, distance piece options, and special coatings suitable for a wide range of industrial gases. A double packed (D-Style) reciprocating compressor has one distance piece and offers a moderate level of leakage containment. A triple packed (T-Style) compressor has two distance pieces offering the highest level of leakage control. If necessary each distance piece can be pressurized, purged, or vented for maximum leakage containment. Both styles are available in single- and two-stage, air or water cooled, and single and double-acting versions with NPT or Class 300 RF connections.

Standard compressor mountings designed for liquefied gas transfer, vapor recovery, and gas booster applications are available. If one of these do not meet the requirements of the application, Corken can supply a custom engineered package. The ASME B31.3 - 2012 piping option is available upon request.

Double Packed Reciprocating
Compressors (Oil Free)

  • Utilizes two sets of V-ring packing per piston rod and one distance piece
  • Adjustable packing screw on lower packing maximizes sealing performance over the life of the packing
  • Oil-free gas compression (exceptions: models 791 and 891 are not oil free)
  • Typically used in toxic and corrosive applications where oil-free gas is required and moderate leakage containment is desirable

Overview
D-Style oil-free compressors offer two sets of packing per piston rod and one distance piece for moderate leakage containment. Purge kits with all of the accessories needed to purging or pad the distance piece are available.
