Truck Pump—Troubleshooting Guide

Pump Is Noisy

Possible Causes

 

What To Do      

Cavitation from poor suction conditions Increase pipe size. Clean inlet strainer.
Blades/vanes sticking Remove blades/vanes and clean out foreign matter. Check material compatibility or replace baldes if swollen.
Bearings seized or worn Replace.
Differential pressure too high Restriction in discharge piping or delivery hose too small and too long. Check speed of pump.
Blades/vane drivers broken Replace.
Improperly aligned drive system Correct as necessary.
